Letter B,b Cooking Centers

We made bears in our cooking centers last Friday.
First we took a piece of bread and cut out a circle for the head.
Next, we spread peanut butter over the circle.
Lemon cookies were used for the ears and the nose.
The kids had to pull apart the cookie and eat the filling before we could put them on the bear.

Mini chocolate chips became the eyes and the nose.

The finished product!

We worked our Christmas gifts for our parents as well.

We had a show and tell table where the kids wrote what was brought for show and tell in balloon books and we completed a bear paper full of beginning /b/ sounds.

Angels

In kindergarten we have been talking about the importance of giving to others.  It seems at this time of year so many kids are concerned with what they want instead of with what they can give.

The KinderKids bought presents for two different angel tree children this year.  The boys bought for one child and the girls bought for another.  We split up into two groups, boys and girls, and went through the items to make sure there were no price tags.

Once we were sure we had removed all the price tags the kids folded the items and we packed the boxes.

The kids all worked together in their groups to wrap the presents.  Some taped
some folded paper
some held the paper in place

Both groups did an awesome job of wrapping and working together.

Busy

These last couple of weeks we have been super busy in kindergarten preparing for Christmas!  We are currently working on some ornaments to hang on our Christmas trees.

We are also becoming quite the little readers.  Please keep practicing at home!  The more the kids read, the better readers they will become!

Pattern blocks and the memory game were also part of our centers on Monday.

Spinach Anyone?

We had a visitor that came to talk to us about healthy eating.  She read us a story about D.W. and her picky eating.
We listened
and then talked about healthy foods we like to eat.
We were lucky and were able to listen to another story
while our special snack was made.
Ham, cheese, and spinach quesadillas were the snack.

Even though we didn't all like them, we did all take at least one bite.

Gobble Gobble

For Thanksgiving we made these cute little turkey's for snack.
The kids counted out everything they would need.

There was a baggie with frosting in it at each table.  We walked through the process step by step with each of the kids "gluing" his or her turkey together.

They did a fabulous job!

We also made Indian and Pilgrim hats.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
