We have been learning about and experimenting with things that float and sink. We got out the modeling clay and thought we'd have some fun. We found that a flat piece of clay sinks, however a curved piece of clay will float. The kids each took a lump of clay and started working with it to create a boat.
Once we had the boats we put them in water and started adding little cubes to see whose boat would hold the most.
I believe the most a boat held was 18 cubes.
While a group was trying their boats the rest of us worked on word families
and Lego's!
Here is a little video clip of the boat experiment.
(I'm sorry it's sideways, it would not let me rotate it.)
